Context
What do we mean by
the social context?
We mean that this particular context affects the situation
and the society around them. Therefore meaning there could be effects between
the people for example the communication could get better or worse depending on
the back story. Which links to Antigone a story (play) written mhundreds of years ago and turning it a bit
more modern so it can relate to society now gives it more of a reason to affect
society because it changes their social and political views.
How did people live
at the time Antigone was created?
People were living at a time where society were mainly over
powered by men. What I mean by that is that men had more of a last say in what
happens, women not so much. They all lived in cities were men would work
(building, carpeting…etc) and women would
stay at home and cook and clean. So when the play Antigone was created it would
be totally different, to a certain extent, to what society would be like back
then.
