Nation Theatre- An Introduction to Greek Tragedy


Notes typed up:


-          It looks suffuring

-          It shows modern audiences

-          It shows how people  seem to suffer when they don’t and becomes aware.

-          Hamati

-          The idea we live in a world full of flaws.

-          People that fear death represent the sun

-          Scripts from these times generally start with a prologue then go into the chorus

-          Some modern plays are similar to Greek tragedies

-          Cathesis- clarify

-          Seeing tragedies is a cleaning experience

-          Confronting, suffering, death and its about reflection and looking at how we relate and prevent

-          The hero isn’t particularly all good but tries to do what’s right
